Rock Open Playoffs Against Owen Sound
The Oakville Rock (15-1-0, #1 seed) will open the Ontario Series Lacrosse playoffs with a first-round matchup against the Owen Sound North Stars (8-7-1, #4 seed) beginning on Friday, July 21 at 8pm at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, ON.
The Rock may come in as heavy favourites, however their lone loss of the season came at the hands of the North Stars in Oakville's opening game of the 2023 regular season in Owen Sound. Since then, the Rock have been unbeatable, literally. Rattling off 15 straight wins is proof of that.
Oakville's offence is deep and dynamic and boasts the league's triple crown winner in righty forward Ryan Lanchbury who led the OSL in goals (36), assists (51) and points (87). Finishing right behind Lanchbury in assists (45) and points (65) was righty forward Josh Dawick, and second in goals was offensive lefty Jason Knox (33).
A +141 GF/GA differential was also tops in the league. The Rock's duo of Nick Rose and Sam Haines were terrific between the pipes all season long. Callum Jones, Bill Hostrawser and Sheldon Burns are just a few of the names that anchor the Rock's defensive corps that is littered with NLL veterans.
